Being an Army Diver is a unique position in the Army. It's a job where you're asked to be involved in several different kinds of operations and missions. An Army Diver will be asked to do anything from underwater demolitions and engineering work, to combat maneuvers when securing a shoreline during a water operation.

Physical and educational training are a large part of being an Army diver. Soldiers go through strenuous workouts and underwater practice to stay in the shape that the job demands.

Army Divers use an array of different equipment to perform their job. They will use everything from SCUBA gear to infrared hydrographic survey equipment to map underwater terrain.
