When it comes to constructing bridges for an Army, there's a lot of teamwork and precision involved. A Bridge Crewmember can do everything from navigate boats; be part of the build team, a rope team or a shore team; or help coordinate the entire assembly of these strong and mobile structures.

Bridge Crewmembers construct many different kinds of bridges, from temporary quick-crossing bridges, to more permanent bridges. The equipment they use ranges from heavy cranes to boats to large transport vehicles including helicopters.

Teamwork is one of the most important aspects of the job because without everyone doing their part, the bridge cannot be built. In order for the Army to remain mobile, bridges are a crucial element in navigating waterways and rough terrain.
